May 2026 Changelog

May centered on the project editor and surveys, with a set of pricing and workflow fixes alongside. Service account credentials also became the generally available way to authenticate integrations.

Service accounts for integration access

You can now authenticate a ScopeStack integration with its own dedicated credentials instead of tying it to an individual person’s login. On a service-type user, a new Client Credentials tab lets you generate an OAuth client ID and secret. The secret is shown only once, when you create or rotate it, so copy it at that moment. Existing user-based integrations keep working; service accounts are the recommended setup going forward.

Reopen and edit completed surveys

Completed and shared surveys now have stable, bookmarkable links, so you can return to any past survey to review or update its answers. A new Take Again for New Project button on a completed survey starts a fresh survey from the same questionnaire without disturbing the original record. We also fixed a bug where saved dropdown answers showed up blank when reopening a completed survey; they now display correctly.

Recover services that lost their phase

In the project editor, professional services that became detached from a phase (for example, after the phase was deleted) used to disappear from view. They now appear in an Unassigned Services section at the top of the editor, where you can assign each one back to a phase from a dropdown.

New unique_count merge field for templates

Template authors working with V2 merge data have a new unique_count value on each service. On the first occurrence of a given service name in a project, it returns how many services share that name; on later duplicates it returns 0. That makes it easier to write conditional template logic around repeated services.

More labels you can customize

The set of interface labels you can rename per account grew. Rescope, Adjust Project Margin, and Service Category can now be customized alongside the labels that were already configurable, so the terminology in the app can match how your team talks about the work.

Account settings, reorganized

A couple of items in the account settings menu were renamed: Advanced is now Account Info, and Contact is now My Info.

Get support from the account menu

The floating chat bubble has been retired. Ask Support now lives in your account menu, next to Help Center, and opens the chat panel directly when you click it.

Available on request

  • Hide empty phases. Accounts can opt to hide phases that contain no services in the project editor (off by default). Hidden phases reappear as soon as a service is assigned to them. Contact ScopeStack to enable it.

For integrators

  • Project variables API. Project variables now support create, update, and delete through the API (v1 and v2); previously they were read-only.
  • Phase and governance API documentation. Write endpoints for phases and governance — which already existed — are now documented in the v1 and v2 API reference.
  • Note timestamps. Notes returned by the API now include an updated_at field (v1 and v2), reflecting when a note was last edited.

Fixes

  • Managed services per-resource pricing. Managed services priced by resource hours were applying a $0 rate; they now use the resource’s actual hourly rate, and the payment frequency is taken from the project.
  • Governance hours precision. Governance item hours no longer round to a single decimal. A value like 1.25 now displays and saves as entered.
  • Variable-rate indicator. The indicator that shows when a service uses custom (variable) rates now reflects the actual setting rather than misfiring.
  • Approval requests survive document deletion. Deleting a project document no longer discards pending document-approval requests; that history is now preserved.
