Project Blueprints

A Project Blueprint captures the services and resources from an existing project so you can reuse that configuration as a starting point for new projects.

Creating a Blueprint from a Project

You can create a Blueprint from any project that has an Approved or Won status. The Create Blueprint button appears in the project overview when those conditions are met.

Clicking Create Blueprint opens a confirmation prompt. After confirming, you are taken to the blueprint edit page where you can:

  • Name (required): Give the blueprint a descriptive name.
  • Code (optional): Assign a short identifier for the blueprint.

Below the name and code fields, you will see the services from the project organized into two tables:

  • Professional Services: Shows each service name, its quantity, and the assigned resource.
  • Managed Services: Shows each service name and its quantity.

Review the services, make any adjustments, and click Submit to save the blueprint.

The blueprint is now available in Settings > Content > Blueprints and can be applied to any future project.

Managing Blueprints in Settings

Navigate to Settings > Content > Blueprints to see all blueprints in your account. The list shows each blueprint’s Name, Code, and Tags.

Click a blueprint to edit it. The edit page has two tabs:

  • Blueprint: Edit the blueprint’s name, code, and tags.
  • Services: View and manage the services included in the blueprint. Professional Services are shown with their Phase, Service name, Resource, and Quantity. Managed Services show the Service name and Quantity. You can add or remove individual services from either list using the buttons at the bottom of each table.

Applying a Blueprint to a Project

There are two ways to apply a blueprint when building a project:

From the Project Editor: On the Professional Services page, click Add Services. In the dialog that appears, select Add Services from Blueprint. You will see a list of available blueprints with their names and codes. Select a blueprint and, if your project has multiple locations, choose which location the services should be assigned to. Click Apply Blueprint to add the services to your project.

A preview panel on the right shows the services in the selected blueprint with their Phase, Name, Quantity, and Resource, so you can review before applying.

From the Guided Project Creation flow: During the Services step of the guided workflow, select the Blueprint option to search and apply blueprints the same way.

The services from the blueprint are added to your project. You can then modify quantities, resources, and language as needed for this specific project.

How Blueprints Handle Services

When you create a Blueprint, standard services are referenced as they exist in your account’s settings. If those standard services are later updated in Settings, new projects created from the blueprint will pick up the updated versions.

Custom services (services that were created for a specific project rather than defined in Settings) are copied into the blueprint as new standard services so they can be reused.
